Tandem Pediatric Therapies is a small community-based speech therapy private practice based in the Nashville, TN area. Our mission is to provide child-led and engaging therapy that supports a child’s communication growth. Tandem Pediatric Therapies is dedicated to fostering the development of children’s communication skills while working hand in hand with their families at home, in schools, and in the community.

Rebecca Rae, SLP & Tandem Founder
Our lead therapist, Rebecca, has provided pediatric Speech Therapy services in clinics and throughout the Nashville area since 2018. She earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degree from Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, OH. Rebecca founded Tandem Pediatric Therapies in 2022 to increase convenience and accessibility of speech therapy services for families.
Rebecca is recognized by Apraxia Kids as a therapist with advanced knowledge and training in the diagnosis and treatment of Childhood Apraxia of Speech. With her specialized training, she utilizes evidence-based therapeutic techniques to tailor therapy to each child’s individual strengths and communication support needs.

Speech, Language & More!
Apraxia
Speech difficulties caused by a child’s brain having difficulties coordinating all the complex movements needed to form sounds into words. These children often have a good understanding of language and know what they want to say but have difficulty forming the right words.
AAC
Augmentative and Alternative Communication includes use of gestures, using picture supports, or high-tech speech-generating devices. AAC supports children in expressing their thoughts while verbal communication skills are still emerging.
Feeding Therapy
Feeding therapy targets difficulties coordinating oral motor movements needed to safely consume foods or aims to increase the number of foods a child will eat. Feeding therapy helps encourage children to explore and consume new foods in a child-led, familiar, and comfortable environment at home.
Speech & Language Therapy
Speech and language therapy helps children begin producing
specific speech sounds or understand and use language and vocabulary. These skills also contribute to a child’s literacy skill development and academic achievement.
